You can export Raycast’s settings and data using the Export Settings & Data command. The export includes, quicklinks, snippets, settings, extensions, hotkeys and aliases. The export can be used as a backup or to transfer your setup to another PC.

To import a previous export, run the Import Settings & Data command and choosing the rayconfig file created during export.

Note: during the beta period the export format may change, so we can’t guarantee compatibility with older exports 🤞

Export Passphrase

Usually you will be asked for a passphrase when exporting. This is used to encrypt your exported rayconfig file. The passphrase is stored in Raycast and can be found in Settings → Raycast. After you’ve entered the passphrase once you don’t need to enter it again for future exports.

When importing you will be prompted for the same passphrase so that Raycast can securely decrypted the rayconfig file.

Importing from macOS Raycast

Raycast on Windows also supports importing settings and data from Raycast on macOS.

  1. Run Export Settings & Data on macOS
  2. Copy the rayconfig file to your PC
  3. Run Import Settings & Data

Currently import from macOS includes snippets, quicklinks and some settings. We’ll be expanding the range of imported data and settings during the beta period.
